HAPPY Father's Day

I would like to pay tribute to my wonderful husband Jared and my father and father-in-law today. I am so extremely blessed to have such wonderful priesthood holders, and friends as the influential men in my life and my children's lives.

Jared C. Schauers, AKA Fisherman Extraordinaire
My husband is the greatest, supporting me going back to school means so much to me. Of course Savanna Fiora and Weston think he's the best daddy ever!

Alan K. Barrett, AKA Ping Pong Champion
My dad has a killer table tennis fast serve. He allowed the kids to come stay at his house in Eagle Mountain for 8 days while we were in Cancun! He serves a lot.

J. Neil Schauers, AKA SUPERgrandpa
The kids are down in Gunnison right now with Grandpa Neil, he is so great to let them run through his house for a few days! The kids make great memories down there.

Savanna's haircut

As promised, a picture of my growing like a weed Savanna, with her summer hair cut!

Spider Weston

Uncle Aaron picked up Westy and let him crawl along the ceiling and walls like spiderman. Jared got a video of it, I hope you can view it, it's so funny!

Happy Birthday Weston

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WESTON! He turned 4 June 14th. We had a pizza party for him, with a fishing theme. We had a fish pond, Savanna manned that post and did a very good job. We had the kids shoot baskets to win a live fish (sorry parents, hope you had better luck with yours, all three of ours have already died). Tanner Hanks was by far the winner of the basketball shooting. We had a cupcake decorating station, blue frosting and sea creatures to top it. All under a blazing sun. We went downstairs for presents and all cooled off.

10 things we LOVE about Weston!
1. He is so dang handsome
2. He plays well in his imaginary world, fighting villians and whatnot
3. He compares different sizes by saying, "This is the daddy (the biggest one), this is the mommy (the medium), and this is the kid (smallest)." Pertains to all objects, even blades of grass and food.
4. He gives super hugs
5. He does a great spiderman impression
6. He sings songs on pitch, and knows most every superhero theme song
7. He says loving and detailed blessings on the food
8. He cleans his room all by himself
9. He loves his mommy the most
10. He has cut down on drinking applejuice from a cup because "it's breaking my teeth!"

Heather and Jared news

I finished this class in April, it took over a month for the instructor to post my grade. But there it is. A-. Not bad, I worked hard for that one. Of course I am working hard in my Statistics and Psychology classes currently, but may not get as good of grades because I am taking them on top of each other. However, my first psychology portfolio came back with 100% and full of praise from the instructor, (I like her:) so I may do alright.

My grandma Rappleye turned 87 this month. I have been enjoying being her play-attending partner the past couple of years. She gets season tickets for plays at BYU and always asks me to accompany her to my delight. I usually drop whatever plans I had to make it happen. I love it!

Having two classes has made it so I have eliminated a few things, like time with Jared. He is SUPER busy himself lately. Property management and scouts keep him hopping. His allergies have been bad this month so far and that makes his nights rough too. But I have been benefitting from the cycling merit badge he is doing for the boys, I get to go with them! So far we have done two 10 milers, two 15 milers, and we still have to do two 25 milers and a 50! I have the best bike of them all, so it's not as hard for me, maybe that's why I love it so much. Jared uses it as our date night.

Don't say Wow yet

May is over, and school is out. Savanna is having a tough transition, of course. She constantly wants someone to play with and something to do. She has been the source of quite a few conflicts over here. I have suggested several options, special reading place, practice the piano, draw, ride her bike...this last one was a bit painful. She finally learned how to ride a bike without training wheels yesterday after lots of tears and a few bruises. I had to take the training wheels off Fiora's bike to make it happen (easier balance on a smaller bike) but Savanna can do it now and we are all happy. But don't say wow yet. Unfortunately some dude in his car yelled at her to get out of the road so she is a bit wary of riding in the street! And she has a hard time on the sidewalk staying in a straight line. But she'll get it. I just hope she grows into her bigger bike quickly so Fiora can have hers back soon.

Weston invented the phrase "don't say wow yet." He likes to show me things but hates it when I say "Wow Weston" prematurely. Example: he was twisting on the swing and insisted I watch him twist and let go and spin, but said "don't say wow yet" about ten times and was all finished looked at me as if to say, "now you can say it." Sometimes he'll even say, "Say wow now."

Weston has started summer soccer, he was so cute in his shin guards and kicking the ball. There was a lot of standing around, and the coaches had to snap him back into action a lot (literally snapping their fingers in front of his face) but it was so awesome when he got to do a drill. I think he loved it.

Fiora thinks because Savanna is always trying to go play with friends that she can do it too now. The problem is I have to take her which I don't like to do. I shipped her off to Lexi's by herself yesterday to test her ability, and Lexi's mom called me worried that Fiora was lost or left without my knowing. So we're still in "arrange a play-date" stage with Fiora I guess. Fiora's a pretty free spirit, when we go to a family outing she is absolutely defiant about leaving when we say. She loves to play and socialize with friends and family. If there were any kids living next door to us she would be at their house every day. I guess it's good we have to arrange it, or she would never stay home.

I have started teaching the girls about daily chores, they are required to do a dish job every day. I get lots of complaints about it, and Fiora has dodged it a few times and sat in time out as a result, but it's wonderful when they do it. I make sure the dishwasher is empty, and their job is to make sure the sink stays empty (put all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher). This morning Savanna commanded everyone to put their dish IN the dishwasher everytime, but she forgot about the "dishwasher is clean" factor.

Savanna was pretending to be Jared this morning. She put his earpiece on her ear and said, "Hello, this is Jared with Home Basics Real Estate." pause "Oh you need a house? Just turn right at the highway intersection and go straight to the canyon." I got a good laugh, so she made me swear I wouldn't tell Jared. I have to write it here in hopes Jared will read it someday without me acutally telling him. Savanna got a hair cut for the summer, it is pretty short! We are trying to grow her bangs out. She is a beauty. I will post pictures of her hair and her riding Fiora's bike ASAP.
