Nobody's Perfect

This week's Baby Blue's Theme is "Personal Vices." I always post these because it is just like looking in a mirror of the whole family.
Fiora claims the "still afraid of automatic-flush toilets" comic.

Weston usually throws spider webs or punches, thankfully mostly harmless.

This one is dedicated to Stacy.

Fiora

Fiora's spring pictures. I almost hate to see them turn out so well because then I have to pay for the package.
Weston made two goals this week at his soccer game. One for his team and one for the other. It was pretty funny.

This Week

I've been gardening. I love this weather, hoping for no more frosts. Planted the starts that I sprouted inside this year. And I was pleased some of those seeds were cultivated from my last garden!

We have central air!!! My sister Holly is married to Bill, who installs furnaces and air conditioners on the side. He saved us a couple hundred getting and installing this AC, so we can rip that swamp cooler off our roof. As soon as we work up the gumption to patch the roof.

This week Weston has been asking me relentlessly to make him an Underdog costume. That means tape a paper U to his red shirt and tie a blue towel around his neck. The problem is he asks me to do it all over again when the U rips. He wouldn't (surprisingly) pose for a picture as Underdog, but he did a great Spider pose.

Savanna got a hold of my camera and took a bunch of pictures I promptly deleted. This one was funny though. Then she brought home her spring school picture and I loved it! Way cuter.

One night Weston wanted to sleep in my bed and I said no but he insisted. I asked him why and he said he was afraid of bad dreams. So I told him to say a prayer that Heavenly Father would give him good dreams. It must have worked because now he won't/can't fall asleep without praying. There's nothing sweeter than hearing him say his own prayers, I just stand outside the hall and eavesdrop. We were reading "OLIVIA Helps with Christmas" and he pointed to her having a hard time getting to sleep Christmas Eve and said, "She needs to say her prayers." That's right Wes.

Fiora lost another tooth, that makes two total. She got a dollar under her pillow and was excited. On sunday she brought a quarter to church, I told her to give that to me and why are you bringing money into church? and she responsibly replied "This is my tithing!" Really? Good girl, it was a little over 1/10th but I think she back owes on previous earnings so it worked out. My kids must be learning something from FHE and primary.

Moab

We are back from our spring break trip to Moab. Day one we went 4-wheeling at the White Wash Sand Dunes near Green River. We had fun riding in the soft sand and the kids liked playing in it. The wind kicked up after about 4 hours there so we loaded up and drove to Moab. We did a little swimming at the hotel there and went to dinner. The kids were very good and looked so cute in their helmets and goggles. Day two we hiked Arches National Park. It was extremely windy this day, we dragged the kids on the Delicate arch hike, the wind was knocking us off our feet, even Jared, so we didn't linger. We put the goggles on the kids for the other two hikes. Everyone who passed us said that was a good idea and "we wish we had goggles" because the sand was blowing in everyones faces. We saw the sand dune arch and the landscape arch before the wind and dust drove us back to the hotel. We swam in the wind (heated pool) for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Then out to dinner again, chinese this time! We all loved it. Day three we went 4 wheeling again, very grateful that the wind was no more and the sun was out. We drove along the Colorado river on two trails called Hurrah pass and Chicken Corners. These were very rocky but the scenery was unbelievable. We were on steep cliffs and saw caves and springs and even a desert bush forest. The kids were quite sick of 4 wheeling by the end of this, but Jared and I wanted more. We'll have to go back sometime sans kids and see more of that beautiful country. We drove the kids home in time for dinner. We had a super fun time!

Creative geniuses

Weston is a genius colorer. He colors things just as they should be and in the lines. He's a realist. He loves his pictures to be just so.
Savanna pulled out her easter basket from preschool and was bound and determined to make another one for Fiora. She did a pretty good job, no help from uninterested mom.

Savanna pulled out her "Kid Science" book and has pestered me about doing some science projects. This colorful volcano was the latest. We've also done sugar crystals and capilary rise experiments. The crystals are growing, but they're non too pretty as all the kids wanted to put in a drop of food coloring and red plus blue plus yellow equals brown. The volcano was pretty though.

The '80s are back I guess because the kids wear leggings and want their hair done in side pony tails. They are cuties though.

And our final creative genius, Jared propped his eyes open with easter eggs during conference to keep himself awake and all of us entertained.
