Update on Jared's Mom

Grandma Sandy took a turn for the worse on Sunday, we are not sure how much longer she has. We hope that if she does pass away she will do so peacefully and know she is loved. We had a lesson on the plan of salvation last night to help the kids deal with the fact their wonderful grandma might pass away. We don't want her in that torture chamber of cancer anymore, but we will miss her!
While many thousands of others truly mourn for the loss of their kindred, yet they rejoice and exult in the hope, and even know, according to the promises of the Lord, that they are raised to dwell at the right hand of God, in a state of never-ending happiness. Alma 28:12

Fiora's birthday and February

Fiora turned 7 on Saturday. We had a great day. I feel it was a tender mercy of the Lord that her birthday was on Saturday so I didn't have any school or church calling conflicts the entire day. We had our traditional birthday breakfast and presents from mom and dad. Then we made the house fun for the birthday party with her friends. Then we took the kids to Macaroni grill, and Fiora got a cake and sung Happy Birthday to in Italian. Then we went bowling and I beat Jared the second game! Fiora had a great day. We had a dinner witht he Barretts on Sunday and went to Gunnison on Monday for presidents day. So we got to see a lot of family too.

Jared was so generous this year. He bought balloons and everything. He let us use his ice fishing pole for the Fishing Booth, and he filmed the kids racing around the house for the treasure hunt. He let me buy a cake and lots of food for the dinner we hosted on Sunday. He took us to a nice restaurant and bought two games of bowling not just one. (That sure is expensive, to take your family of 5 to a restaurant and bowling, good thing we had gift card and coupons.) He really loves his Fiora and wanted to make her day special. He kept telling me how glad he was I was putting so much effort into her birthday. I love my valentine.

Jared and I served the family Skyscraper Sandwiches for dinner. They turned out pretty good, but that was a lot of work in the kitchen. My family is worth it though. Again, Jared turned out to be a lot of help in doing all that.

As for the rest of February, I remember Weston and Jared playing ping-pong with a soccer ball in my living room and the kids watching too much "iCarly" but other than that it is a blur. Savanna lost an eye-tooth. The kids got a lot of candy for Valentines day. I'm really just in shock the month is halfway over.
