A post by Weston

Hi. This is Weston speaking. This picture is me and my cousin Lucy, we had the same shirt. I jumped on the beanbag with Karli. I went to gymnastics. I went to school, my teacher is still not there, she had surgery. I had a ham sandwich for lunch and chicken for dinner. Yesterday I had my last soccer game for the fall. Dad came and took pictures. I didn't get any goals. Here are some pictures:

Savanna had soccer today. She had my dad's jacket and hat because she was cold. She is on the "flash" team, they always win. But Savanna didn't get any goals either. But Savanna likes soccer I think.

Fiora practices gymnastics. I practice the piano. We get a prize if we practice every day, Karli reminds us in the morning. Fiora got to go camping with my dad, but me and Savanna couldn't go because of soccer. Fiora and Dad fished and slept in a tent. I think Fiora slept in a trailer with uncle Todd. The dog Penny sniffed her feet and woke her up in the morning. Fiora had a fun time.

Thats all, except next time I want to go camping.

Haircuts and other stuff

This is long overdue. I took the girls out on Labor Day and we all got hair cuts. We got some pizza while we were waiting. It was a fun outing. My girls' hair grows pretty fast but it is very fine and neither straight or curly so it looks mangy when its long. They have been begging me to cut it anyway, so here they are. I got a hair cut too, shorter. Savanna and I took a picture of ourselves.
Weston and Savanna are both in soccer and its three times a week for both of them right now. Kind of driving me nuts, but Jared has helped take them to games. Weston is twice as good as he was last year, but Savanna is a new comer and struggling to keep up with the "Flash" girls on her team. She's getting better though! It's fun to watch a game with actual rules and positions.
Jared took me overnight on a school night to Park City. It was a take it or leave it opportunity, and since we have Karli, we took it. We went to a graduate dinner before and enjoyed some gormet BYU catering and a speech from the Dean of Graduate Studies. It was a fun event.

My mom and Grandma were kind enough to come to Grandparents day at Bonneville Elementary and visit all the kids' classrooms and eat lunch with them. I planned ahead and bought them lunches and mapped the school, but I was in school all that day and just left it up to them. The kids said it was really fun, so I guess it turned out well. Thanks Mom.
As school pace is picking up for me, Jared has stepped in to help with the meals. Even Sunday he made dinner. An invention he came up with called Pizza Style Pasta, including penne pasta, sausage and pepperoni, cream cheese, and marinara sauce. It was fabulous!

Post by Karli

Here is what I read on Karli Sue's post today. Karli is our nanny, she is doing a wonderful job, and the kids just love her.
"I've been spending a lot of time with a special boy. My buddy Weston. Every morning, it's me and him, and so we have fun together. He is a really funny boy and always makes me laugh. Like today when I was walking him to school, we saw a helicopter, and he said, "Wow! it's so high up!"
I responded, "Yeah. Would you like to fly in a one someday?"
He promptly answered, "No. I just want to be Link."
hahaha! oh, he is great. We had some great fun in my room this morning, with the cows. Here's some pictures."

Weston's first day of school

Weston is at his first day of school as I write. That is why I am writing. Because all the kids in school is a dream come true! Also it's kind of sad. But Weston was very patient all the long week while the girls had school and he did not, and all morning waiting for 12:15 to come so he could go to afternoon school. He chose his clothes carefully, picking only school appropriate clothes. He paitently waited for dad to get home and walk him to school too. When we got there I was surprised to see all the kids in our neighborhood have the afternoon block too! Jared took a picture.

It was kind of funny that Jared and Karli and I all walked Weston to school, taking Weston to school is going to be Karli's job more than mine this year so I wanted her to come. And Jared is just awesome to want to see his son off to his first day. He wouldn't miss this milestone.

Today marks two years since Lillian's passing. I have been pretty emotional today. She is ever present in my thoughts today and not far from them every day. Jared and I went to temple this morning and the beautiful sun was shining in the celestial room and I felt so close to Heaven. I long to be there, but there is still much to do here. I speak for all of our little family when I say we miss Lillian. Weston drew a picture of her just the other day, as a baby in a blanket of course. He still remembers her! We'll never forget.

The "1st day of school" post

Yesterday was the first day of school around here. The kids were very excited, even Weston whose mom forgot kindergarteners don't start for a week later than everyone else. She's getting old apparently. Thankfully Jared reminded me of that point the first day of school. Poor Weston, he's just hanging around the house with only mom asking how many more days until he goes to school. I took him to the park for two hours this morning, I love that kid, I will miss him a lot this year.
Savanna and Fiora are just pros at school, they rode their bikes today, didn't even want me to come with or pick them up or anything. Fiora said, "Mom you said school was all day!" I replied it IS all day! "No, I want to eat dinner there and sleep there too!" She likes school. It is very strange to not have all three kids underfoot around the house, it sure is quiet with only Weston. My first day of school is August 31st, so I'm enjoying my quiet time while it lasts.

Here is fiora at her summer Gymnastics recital, my video camera wasnt working and we were too far away from the action to get a good still shot, but she did great! We decided not to put her on a team this year, we want to reserve as much "family" time as we can for the next couple years while I'm in school. So maybe someday, but not now. She is showing great potential though, I tell you.
