February 2020

Grateful for snippets of family time during a very busy month. And February threw me a real curve ball...the only bad week of winter weather was the week I had to drive to Salt Lake every single day!!!  Otherwise the weather was mild and the roads pretty dry and I was grateful for that.

The Week of Feb 2-7 I had new employee and area training at SLC due to being the new full time employee at Family Services. I had my boss take a couple pictures of me and my two MSW cohort friends Shannon and Sam, but he wouldn't give it back and used it for his own selfie purposes. So that's Ken my manager and Stephanie my regional manager and his sister in law Allyson who works at headquarters. The lunches were nice but the rest was like sipping water from a fire hose. I'm growing and learning a lot.

My family being awesome and making dinner without me. Also I took some practice pictures with my new phone. I got an upgrade through my company and it was a very nice perk.

Our master bedroom/bathroom remodel is coming along slowly but surely. Dust in the house every day and out room arrangements are interesting, I'm alone in the old office and Jared's downstairs in Weston's room (too cold and loud down there for me). But it is looking so nice and I can't wait to show the results in March's post. Here are some progression pics.

Jared wrote me a nice note on my lunch one day. He has been very helpful in the mornings making breakfast. Unfortunately that is partly because he has had a hurt back most of the month and couldn't play basketball. It seems to be getting better though.
Weston made it to the temple in February twice! And I love how they do it now and I can be a witness. It's nice to have a buddy, thanks Trevan.
My Christmas present to my parents was a trip to Lake Havasu in February, so I helped with Grandma and Krystal's girls for presidents day weekend.

My brother Jesse and his wife Kelsy welcomed their fourth baby, Othello Frost Barrett, February 19th. He is a perfect and beautiful little boy.
We still have the horse and take him out to ride a couple times a week. I get to shovel the stall when Jared's back is hurt.

We took a Saturday to visit Jared's dad and Bonnie. We got to meet Savanna and Joey in Salina to eat some mexican food all together.

Savanna found an apartment she could rent in Lehi and moved out the last day of February. She was sad and has had some growing pains, but is working two jobs and will be closer to her school once she starts. We are proud of her for moving towards independence and pray for her every day as she gets on her feet.
Also the last day of February on this Leap Year we celebrated my brother Justin's 32nd birthday at his house. VR games and food and fun. I needed a fun break that night. Love my family.

January 2020

I took a record low amount of pictures this month. Jared supplemented some of his photos. I worked full time and it's the dead of winter, so not a whole lot of "enthusiastic picture moments."

We are in the middle of home renovations, repainted and recarpeted the main level and it looks amazing. Working on the master bedroom and bath as we speak.
Fiora has been trying to be patient with all the construction and keeps busy with school and work and taking time to visit Cade in Ogden.
Savanna has been looking for a job and apartment and finding time to visit Joey in Spring City.
Weston spent a huge chunk of time again this month at wrestling tournaments. His knees, ribs, and shoulder hurt and he didn't win a lot of matches, but he supported his team.
Savanna and I took a jaunt down to AZ to try and find some sun for a few days before my contract of hire took effect. The clouds and rain followed us but we still had a nice break hiking in the desert and hanging out with my aunt Jeanie and her daughters. Jared Fiora and Weston dealt with a huge mess at home while we were gone, but went bowling once. We've moved about 60% of our house and I do a lot of work but it's making the winter go by fast.

The PG spirit team taped this to our door

I keep finding these cute pictures of Savanna in Ecuador on her insta posts

We celebrated Lillian's 13th birthday on January 15th
