April was a lot more gentle on us, despite the weather being unusually cold. Jared and I have been doing a lot of yard work between the two properties we own. Getting that little farm on main street looking better and better. We built a white vinyl fence at the west end of the property and planted four blue spruces, Jared pulled out old barbed wire fence all around to put in a nice electrical wiring, and we got our chicks all situated in the chicken shed, amongst other things. We totally made use of the spring dumpsters around the city. Jared still faithfully rides his horses twice a week. When I'm working out there with him there is no place I'd rather be.
Weston enjoying his senior year had a choir tour to Disneyland, was able to perform in the PigPen concert with his rock band Jade Valley. The Lord miraculously made it possible for me to get over there and see him perform. He did great, his guitar talent never ceases to amaze me. Weston also enjoyed taking his friend from Student Council to prom and had a great time. We are currently working on his mission papers so Jared took him shopping to get some suits and shirts and shoes, and it is incredible how long that process takes.
I had some work parties I took some pictures of. Family Services is my home away from home so I have to document some of the interactions I have with the amazing people I work with.
Of course there was Easter, and the annual Barrett Family Easter egg hunt at our house. I might have put too much money in the eggs this year, not accounting for the fact that Heidi is in St George and Holly went down to spend Easter with her so not as many kids. Oh well! The ones who got money were thrilled with the amount. They are all so cute and fun I love having my nieces and nephews over. We also celebrated Bourne's 7th birthday which was the same day. Kelsy made a fantastic dragon cake for him.
I went to the Brigham City temple with my parents then we met Fiora at the Spoon to have dinner. We had a lovely time! Fiora found a little apartment to move into in Riverdale by Ogden and Weston and I went up to help her move in. Its a perfect starter apartment for her and I'm grateful she has worked so hard to be in a position to rent her own place.
At the tail end of the month I made it over to Alan Searcy's 4th birthday party and gave him a ball and glove. Still a little young for that but I found a ball in mint condition on our farm land and thought it should be little Al's. Karli Sue made a beautiful star wars party and cake for him.
