We took Weston on one final trip, just his parents and him, to New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania for a church history tour. Saw some American history sites too. It was a gift and a treasure to have that time to spend with him, expand all our testimonies of the restore Gospel, and enjoy that part of our country.
Phase 1 New York Manhattan: walked over 20 miles all over city, statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial, food tastings, Central Park, Brooklyn, Church/Temple visit, Broadway show Wicked
Phase 2 Harmony Pennsylvania and Susquehanna River church history site: lunch with Aunt Denice and Uncle John Rappleye serving a mission there, peaceful wonderful tour with them, didn't want to leave.
Phase 3 Palmyra NY: Whitmer farm, Grandin building, the Sacred Grove, Cumorah Hill church history sites. Baptisms at Palmyra temple.
Phase 4 Niagara falls and Kirtland Ohio: Newel Whitney store, Johnson farm church history sites. Kirtland Temple tour by Community of Christ (but we got someone from our church giving the tour lol). Visited coast of Lake Eerie.
Phase 5 Hershey and Lancaster Pennsylvania: museum of Milton Hershey and touring Amish country, touring farms, and eating pretzels. Stayed at Beacon hill farm, Amish owned "Airbnb"!
Phase 6 Philadelphia PN: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Hall of Congress, and oldest church of England and Benjamin Franklin's grave. Also had philly cheesestake and visited Reading Market. Sealings at the Philadelphia temple.
