July 2026

 First of all, Savanna announced that she is expecting her 2nd child in February! Savanna is handling pregnancy like a champ. We are so excited for grandchild number 2!!! She heard the heart beat and had an ultrasound. Jared watched Juliette so Savanna could go to the doctor and make sure all was well. 

First week of July Heather got bad summer cold (we suspect another strain of COVID) and then Jared got it the following week. We were both coughing for weeks and had a couple really bad days. We still managed to have a lot of fun in July. Here's the fun:

1. 4th of July parade. Jared and his sheriff posse rode their horses in the Freedom Festival Provo parade. Fiora Lucy and I miraculously found a small patch of ground to put our blanket and chairs and be able to see Jared prance his pony (Ranger) in his studly outfit.

2. Lucy Carpenter stayed with us the first week of July and we went to the temple together, Jared took her fishing and e-bike riding, and she went to the parade with us. I'm glad she didn't get my sickness.

3. Hike training! Fiora went with us up Grove creek the first week, Jared and I speed hiked up cascade mountain (but didn't summit) the second week, and Fiora went with me up to Horse tail falls the third week. 

4. Trip to SLC with My Dad on his birthday to eat at Mateos 

5. Day trip to Echo Reservoir with Wendy and Keith July 11! We e biked from Park City to Echo reservoir (26 miles) then took the boat out to swim and fish. Really fun day! 

6. Play dates with Juliette even though this summer is so hot every day we feel the whole world is going to burn up. Juliette is getting smarter and cuter every day! She knows 50 words now.

7. We had to do our every 10 months or so stacking hay into the hay loft. So many people showed up to help (Weights, Snows, tenants, boarders) so it was painless for me!

Last but not least...What we have been gearing up for and thinking about and training for for months...Backpacking with the goats and summiting KINGS PEAK! That gets it's own post, so stay tuned.
