May 2024 Part 3

 May 18-31, Part 3

Karli Sue's baby shower happened the Saturday after Savannas big party. I hosted that but we all had to go to her because she fell and started having contractions early and had to be on bed rest to try and keep her little guy from coming too early. I'm so glad we showered her with gifts, money, and love, because she found out the next week that her 3 year old son Ammon has Type 1 Diabetes and it shattered her world. She had a new born coming, was on bed rest, and had to figure out how to take care of a diabetic child! We were all so heartbroken for poor Karli Sue and Grant and Ammon. The shower was a success and I'm so grateful for all who came.

My birthday celebration was spread out over a week. I went to Red Lobster with McKay, Sav, and Fiora, the Thursday before because I was leaving for Fresno on May 24th. And we all got crab! It was so fun. Jared's colt Chex is growing big and strong, and Aaron's goats had babies so that has been fun and cute addition to our hobby farm. My aunt Betty Ann and uncle Steve Curtis also came through the MTC and I got to have some lunch with them before they launched on their mission to Italy. Somewhere in there I managed to get over to the graveyard and put some flowers and pinwheels on Lillians and Grandma Schauers graves.

Then we took our trip to Fresno to visit my parents over memorial day weekend. I know! another fun adventure packed into the same month. It was so nice to see my parents in action on their mission as housing coordinator and finance secretary, and see Fresno and all the orchards and visit Sequoia, Kings, and Yosemite national parks. The hike to Yosemite upper falls was a doosey! But we survived and are all stronger for it. A highlight for me was seeing the Baldessar Fratessier underground house and gardens. It sure was spectacular! My mom pampered me on my actual birthday with pancakes cake and candles. We will miss them for the next 4 months as they finish their mission. When I got home I got to go on another birthday outing with my friend Shannon Young to La Jolla Groves. Then Jared and I did one last dinner at Tucanos just the two of us the last Friday in May. Whew! Lots of good food this month, lots of celebrating, and lots of blessings. I'm hoping for a little less intense June so I can rest from all the good times. :)
