Sep 26, 2024 Brazil Day 7

Much better sleep (benadryl) and the rain continued. We packed everything airplane appropriate, this was more or less just a travel day, its hilarious to see us with our 9 bags going anywhere and shoving them into cars. I'm very grateful nothing happened to any of our belongings while we traveled. This day we left beautiful Rio Grande do Sul (southern state of Brazil) to fly to Sao Paolo. Thankfully we managed to squeeze in a few more visits before we had to get to the airport, one of which was to Luisa the cake maker, who we had to disappoint/cancel on Tuesday 9/24. She was hilarious. We visited with her and her two daughters and she gave us the best cake I've ever had, and we conversed easily with her my portuguese getting better each day. She had lovely things to say about Weston and said this was the first time in all her years of serving missionaries that a missionary's parents had taken the time to come see her, so I'm really glad we made it happen. We also visited Raquel and Luis next, they were very kind, Weston taught them, helped them get married, and helped build their little house. They fed us bread and jam, everyone offers something. The visits to the people Weston knew and loved really is the highlight of this trip, and I say that even after seeing min mundo. :) Made it to the airport safely and had a smooth trip to Sao Paulo, got there about 7:50 pm. The hotel Jared got us here was nice, felt luxurious, and had a washer and drying rack so I could clean my damp clothes. Beautiful view of the city from the 21st floor and lots of SPACE. We had a later dinner at the hotel restaurant which I thought was some of the best food I'd ever had.
