April 2018

There are some pictures here I forgot even happened this month! Here is a brief overview of busy crazy wonderful April.

  • Easter Sunday the family came over for a potluck and egg hunt and it was wonderful, I love having all the family over and seeing the nieces and nephews so happy and excited.
  • Spring break we mostly stayed at home and worked/relaxed, and some sleep overs with Carpenter cousins, I did get Fiora up on a hike to the G with me
  • Holly let me watch her kiddos one evening, and let Kayden sleep over, we had a fun day with Kayden Nielson at Get Air hang time trampoline park.
  • April 6-7 we went to Cheyenne WY for Weston's final gym meet of the season, it was freezing there. He had a solid meet at Regionals scoring almost 70 overall points, about average for what he had done that season. He is excited to have secured an assistant coaching job at AAG this summer so he can earn some money.
  • Savanna played the lead in the Cedar Hills Youth Theater production of Mary Poppins and worked really hard and did a marvelous job! So many people came to see her, she was so thrilled with the support. THANK YOU ALL WHO CAME!! I loved watching her sing on stage!
  • Jared was in charge of a Luau and youth fundraiser for the ward in the middle of April and worked really hard to make it work. It turned out GREAT
  • Fiora bought herself a skateboard and has been enjoying spring weather learning how to be a skater. She is also doing really well in school and dance and has a recital this month.
  • Weston has been teaching himself guitar lessons through youtube and is getting really good!
  • I made a decision to buy more chicks this spring and cull two of my non-producing 2 year old hens. I felt quite initiated as a farmer when I humanely put to rest those chickens. The chicks are thriving, no longer in the tub but in a brooder in our garage.
  • We have had a few Get Ready for Youth Trek meetings this month and we got some clothes, hats, gloves, and are excited that all three of our kids get to attend Trek the same year, and Jared and I get to go with (he's the YM president). Family vacation and hopefully spiritual experience for all of us.
  • I was hired on at LDS Family Services in Provo this month and have been working hard adjusting my schedule so I can work 6-10 three evenings a week. Yes I'm still taking clients at my other job, but less. Feel like its what the Lord wants me to do at this time so I'm utilizing all my faith and strength to see it through. The kids and Jared seem to be adjusting fine with it, I've already missed a choir concert because my client load is already full, sad, but there have been lots of tender mercies from the Lord helping me work it out, and Jared was a great dad and went to Weston and Fiora's choir concert.
  • Because we sold our Orem home and paid off our Lindon home, Jared and I were able to purchase and close on an investment property this month, a lovely little house in Hurricane UT, right next to Sand Hollow Reservoir. That was an exciting step in our future of real estate investments.
  • I finished my paint by numbers Holly gave me and I love it! I finished it right before my first week of work at LDSFS and felt it was symbolic of moving into a bright future.
  • Jared has been training to lead the young men in rappelling excursions this summer, and took a trip down to Moab with his friend Chris W to get some experience. He also did a practice run with the YM at the Battle Creek waterfall here in Lindon. I'm so proud of him learning this skill and conquering his fear of heights!
  • Savanna had another drama competition this month with her Liahona Drama family, a pantomime and Sponge Bob Squarepants song and dance, and right before performance injured her knee -- the knee cap popped out. An ER person attended her and told her to stay off it, but of course she did her show and danced on it anyway, and their skit got third place! so after her show she was laid up some and in pain for about a week. Poor girl can't catch a break when it comes to body pain.
  • My sister Karli Sue had her third child, beautiful baby Alan Ronald Searcy, on april 23rd. He is a beautiful boy and luckily I was able to run up to Tooelle and see him on his first day of  life!
  • We have enjoyed spring weather this April, except for a couple freak snow storms that jerk us around, been taking family walks as much as we can to get ready for Trek, except Savanna who hurt her knee. I took her to the pool.

Fiora and I hiked the G during spring break.

Heidi sends me the cutest pics of her kids, this one is my favorite in April

I fashioned this heat lamp holder out of a pull up bar myself
