November 2020

Here's the family news for this month. Jared found a new stable for Ranger he is happily installed at the Udall farm in Lindon. Jared helps much the stables each morning for old Mr Udall, and they have gone on many rides this month. I'm a wimp and don't like to ride in the cold, but maybe I'll try one of his Morgan mares sometime this winter.

Fiora busy with her master's esthetician school, trying to build a portfolio of skin care services like microdermabrasion! She waxed my legs this month so I put a before and after pic of her work.

Savanna got a position in a salon to apprentice for her nail tech license! Already her nail work is stunning. Savanna is also still doing her foot zoning therapy class and working at Ross to earn her rent, and living in Lehi.

Weston is still busy with dog grooming, we got his studio winter proofed and he earns enough to buy his own inventory now. He even paid for the indoor dog tub installation. Pictures show the industrial plastic and his heater.

We are proud of the good things are kids are doing to build their skills and talents and provide for themselves financially.

Sadly this month Savanna got in a car accident and totaled the blue Acura she was driving. Fortunately, and something I prayed in thanks for several days after, she wasn't hurt except for neck strain. Also good things come from loss, we got a solid payoff from the wreckage, found a great deal on a QX60 and upgraded our family car. We love it.

My sister Holly had her sweet baby boy Liam Nielson and we enjoyed meeting him after they got home from the hospital, and we brought her dinner. That is her 9th child, 8 of which are living. Love him.

One saturday evening we decided we were wanting to eat out so we got on the waiting list for Texas road house and waited 2 hours for a table! We were all so hungry and various moods ensued during dinner, but hey, we got out together as a family!

Fiora took her .25 extra elective credit online she needed to graduate, a foods class! We enjoyed seeing her cook for her various food labs. Weston and Jared cooked a lot this month too. Weston mostly pizzas. Jared still loves his blackstone griddle.

For my brother Jesse's birthday I watched his kids while he and his wife spent some alone time at the mountain home. It was 24 hours of very little sleep, but lots and lots of fun! Knightly Bourne and Everlight are delightful to watch and I'm grateful we can have memories like that. We celebrated Jesse's birthday at the cabin with him after.

November we were asked by President Nelson to spread gratitude via social media for 7 days prior to thanksgiving. So I have various pictures of things I'm grateful for. Included in those posts were my husband, my kids, my bathtub, my job, my mind and health, and my parents, and siblings, and my Savior! So blessed, loved that challenge.

Then of course Thanksgiving! We all pitched in and held the Barrett Family Feast at Jesse's house. It all turned out great as far as food and company goes. Poor Heidi had COVID and didn't know it yet, so we all got exposed... I had my first COVID test this week. We all felt sad she was so sick, she is doing better now though. It's 2020 so it's to be expected. We are all trying to run from a virus that can't be run from.

Over thanksgiving break I started and finished my 2020 Gingerbread house! I spent 4 days working on it, started fresh as I made a whole new blueprint this year. About killed myself trying to get it done on my days off work. Jared thankfully had lots of horse rides to go on while I worked. It took a lot out of me and I lost my memory the night before work began and couldn't remember where I put my laptop. It was very humbling and embarrassing, my brain really has it's limits! Thankfully we have a Savior and a loving Heavenly Father watching over us.
