A few more pictures of July

Fun pictures Jared sent me from our trip to Montana. (And one of Savanna lifeguarding. :) Doesn't' that rafting trip just look like a blast!? Well it was. We loved it.

July 2016

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to write about July, so many fun things happened. First of all here are the Barrett family pictures that I think turned out pretty good considering what we were up against! I presented my parents with some large canvas prints which are proudly hanging on their living/dining room wall. I love my tribe.

Chickens are doing well and producing 8 eggs a day. The injured bird spend a month in isolation but is now integrated back in the flock. Jared built a fence to keep them corralled in the north quarter of our yard and they seem happy with that. That way they can't destroy all the grass back there. Here is a picture of our largest and our smallest egg ever collected.

Seth and Katherine Snow got married on my dad's birthday July 9. It was a happy and blessed occasion and they are a beautiful and happy couple! We got a cute picture of all the cousins. I love Jared's tribe which is my tribe too. I'm looking forward to a trip with Wendy, Shawna, Amy, Sandra, and Kim next week.

We celebrated my dad's birthday on the 10th with a nice dinner and dessert at our house with all the Barretts. Dad had 62 candles on his cake. He continues to be an inspiration to me of humility, love, and strength. Love you dad!

The Wilkinson's (my cousin and her 7 children) came to stay again this summer! Yay! it was so fun to have their cute faces and smart minds in our home for a while. We hope they do a summer road trip every year. My cousins Rachelle, Tiare and I got to go to the Provo City Center temple, arrange and EFHE with the Rappleyes, and the kids loved playing with the animals on our quasi-farm.

July 19-24 Jared took us to Montana for his 20 year class reunion. His friend group in high school was really close so they arranged a camp out near Glacier National Park for three days prior to the reunion. My kids integrated right into their families like it was a family reunion! Jared had some quality friends, they had us make a family flag, had arranged all the meals and games, and kept us hopping with fun things to do. We went rafting, tubing, swimming, and hiking, it was really great to get to know them all. Its nice Jared has a twin so Shawna Schauers and her kids Baily Ethan Tate and Cookie, all whom we love, could be with us there also.
Day 1 drive to West Glacier and check into our cute little cabin and the KOA. Meet Jared's friends at Lake Five, have dinner and get to know people.
Day 2 River Rafting excursion, 8 miles of calm and rapids with a fun guide named Justin. Highlight of the trip! Swimming at Lake 5, tubing and boating at Lake 5, dinner with friends and lots of reminiscing from Great Falls people. Slide show and memorial.
Day 3 Hiking in Glacier with Staci and Keri up to Avalanche lake. Nap. More beach/swim/boating time at Lake 5, card games, dinner, kids swam at KOA as well.
Day 4 Drive through Glacier Natl park, hike to falls through beautiful wild bear country, drive to Great Falls, dinner at Chilis, check in hotel, Jared and Heather go to HS meet/greet at Sports Bar.
Day 5 Brunch with friends in Greatfalls and their parents, drive around the city to see the twin's schools and jobs and old property, big springs and interpretive center, picnic with class of 96 at large.
Day 6 church and drive home.

Savanna said after it was the funnest trip she had been on for a long time. But all good things must come to an end. We got home safe, Krystal and Kollin had taken care of our animals, back to our daily chores! One of the quints asked me why we have so many animals, I responded that "We must love to work hard." Our peaches started dropping and we had to harvest. We got quite a few this year. They are still all over my kitchen and I need to put them up today. Knightly and Bourne came over and enjoyed some with us. Prior to our trip Fiora and I went school shopping and I bought myself a new outfit and got a hair cut, determined to live life and love it. After our trip I got to go shopping with my mom for some baby shower gifts. Its so nice to have some one-on-one time with her! Loved it even though I don't love shopping.

Savanna still works hard as a life guard. I had lots of clients scheduling to get in between my two trips so I work hard at the office but still love my job, it is invigorating to help fight the emotional regulation battles. Fiora has a reputation in our ward as a animal care taker and has been asked to feed cats, walk dogs, put away goats and chickens for people who go out of town. She does a great job and is very reliable. Weston still practices 4 1/2 hours a day at the gym and we are looking forward to his competition season next year already. Jared continues to work hard at real estate and is often gone 13 hours a day, I really love my hard working, honest, kind, smart, friendly husband. We had a great month and feel very blessed.
