September 2018

Guess its time for another post! Right at the beginning of September my sister Holly Nielson met us at the Salt Flats of the Great Salt Lake for a family picture photo shoot. It was very fun and the pictures turned out great! So many good ones to choose from. Holly did a good job. This first one is the one we picked for our family room. But it was a tough choice between that and the one of us holding hands in the lake. My family is so cute even the selfie we took turned out nice!

Silly shot

(Got a random shot of my sister Heidi there who also took advantage of the Salt Lake photo shoot.) On Labor day my parents came with me and Jared for an ATV ride in the mountains. It was of course a beautiful ride on a beautiful day. I love any chance to have my parents' exclusive attention ha ha. But we got stuck in the canyon behind a ton of traffic and parked cars clogging the canyon roads, so we were late and Weston missed an outing with his friends which I felt so bad about I had to take him and Fiora out for dinner and skating to make up for it. Fiora's friend Derek came with us.

When I had a free Saturday morning three times this past month I used them to help Jesse and Kelsy on their new house, or watched their cute kiddos for them so they could work. I also got to watch Heidi's toddler Suzette while she was at work once. Got lots of fun play time with my nephews and nieces.

My youngest brother Joseph, 22 years my junior and now 18 years old, left for the MTC this past week. He is serving a 2 year mission in Dallas Texas for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Yay! We went to see him give a final talk in church and had lunch with the family (and at church we had a family sunday school lesson which was super awesome). Then the Wednesday morning he actually departed, I went with Joseph and Mom for last minute shopping and a lunch in the canyon. It was super! Joseph was very brave and will do great. I'll miss him.

We participated in a ward party that happened to be a Lip Sync. Jared--as part of the Young Men's presidency--did a performance. The seventies song called September. He was funny. None of my kids participated. Savanna is at a shakespeare competition in Cedar City, Fiora did not want to, and Weston was not asked to and never had a chance to practice with the Young men because of all his gymnastics training.  I was in the ward choir number. Some of them were really hilarious. The ward that plays together, stays together, I guess.

The other parts of this month are just work, routine, work, and some chances for relaxing. A lot of praying for rain and hoping the mountain fires don't kill everyone. Jared's Mountain Home in Timberlakes is coming along. Almost done and he is working hard on it. I'll share some pics of it when its finished.  When Jared and I went to the Lindon Stake marriage retreat we blew up a mattress and stayed the night there. Beautiful and quiet.

More from August

I didn't have computer access to these pictures on my phone for some reason and had to email them all to myself, but there are a couple things I missed from August. Fiora and Weston and my lagoon trip, Austin's wedding, sushi with Lucy, and some random shots. Have to have them in my 2018 album!
