June 2020

  • We got a horse trailer and decided to lease another horse so Jared and I can go together. I took lessons every Tuesday in June to prepare for that. I liked it so much I'm taking more lessons in July and have taken every opportunity no matter how tired I am to ride the horses with Jared. I'm so grateful God gave me this in the last part of my life, I feel like I've been missing something that is very natural to me every time I do it. So yeah there are a lot of horse pictures in this post. We got Lisa Mitchell up on Ranger, and we got my dad on Dippy for a nice ride. We are really enjoying the horse hobby.
  • Weston's 16th birthday was celebrated with the Barretts in a joint party for Kynsie Krystal and Weston, a big talent show and dinner at our house. We took him to dinner at Red Lobster and gave him some gifts he wanted. Weston's friends came over and decorated his room and stayed to do some cake and karaoke. We got him a new suit which came several days later due to shipping delays from "civic unrest".
  • Father's day was celebrated with a tribute concert for my dad at Justin's house Saturday. We all sang and played on the guitar dad's favorite songs. We made Jared breakfast on Sunday and relaxed. Savanna had fun recreating a picture of her and Jared from 2004.
  • Weston got his driver's license the day after his birthday, took a lot more time and money to make that happen since COVID cancelled the PG drivers ed class, but we made it happen!
  • Fiora started her full time school at Mandalyn academy and is still doing long shifts as a CNA on the weekends. She is busy but thriving and moving forward, for which we are grateful since so many people have been put on hold with school in 2020.
  • Savanna has continued to work 2 jobs and is trying to move her schooling along, unfortunately MTECH cancelled their June program for which she was signed up, and when they opened at half enrollment for August every class filled up fast and she has to wait again. She and I had a fun walk along the Jordan River trail and like to walk together any chance we can get between our busy work schedules.
  • Heather still working from home and balancing that with house work, yard care (raspberries, roses, chickens, peach tree and Weston helps with the lawn), and family time. Jared totally busy with real estate and property management in the summer, so most everything else falls on me.
  • Lots of fires in June, seems like there is different one on the mountain every day. Strange times.
