April 2019

Its getting harder and harder to keep up with monthly posts! But here I am better late than never.

I finally after a long cold winter got some time in the sun when we were able to use our house in Hurricane for Spring break, Mon-Fri April 1-5! Monday on the way down we had a nice picnic lunch at a part in Toquerville, dropped the trailer and took the Ranger to Toquerville falls, had a nice ranger ride there. Fortunately for us Heidi and Gabe Carpenter and their family were coming down this way the same week so they also stopped there and then met up with us at our house for dinner! We enjoyed the hot tub that evening. Tuesday the Carpenters came back from their hotel in St George and Jared took them on a nice Ranger ride, we had a nice soup salad lunch with them, then we went out later around the Sand Hollow dunes. Movie night. Wednesday was sunny and warm so we had a reservoir day and kayaked and cliff jumped and enjoyed lunch on the beach. SO FUN. That afternoon the Carpenters took the girls home and Jared, Weston, Trevan and I stayed another couple days. Thursday we explored Snow Canyon state park hiking and Quail Hollow reservoir boating, and went out to dinner.  Friday was clean up and go home. I really enjoyed that trip.

Savanna went to prom at Liahona with her boyfriend Joey Jones, she looked absolutely gorgeous and had a nice evening. Their "day date" was the evening before as prom was on a Thursday, and she loved that too. Savannas school is small enough that they could do a Senior Promenade at the dance and invited all the parents to come see their child spotlighted while descending a staircase. It was fun to see that. Jared got to dance with Savanna there too. We love Joey and are happy to see the good they bring out in each other.

Other events things in April:
  • Weston made his own long board in Woods class, it turned out great!
  • We had our fun traditional Easter Egg Hunt and potluck with the Barretts, so fun to see the kids look for eggs even though it rained.
  • Savanna was in her last play of high school "Mother Courage" and did a wonderful job as a Swedish commander.
  • Jared and I helped my sister move out of my parents basement apartment and into her own place in American Fork.
  • My sister Holly had a beautiful baby girl April 24th named Luella.
  • Weston decided to retire from gymnastics and focus on coaching and academics which was bitter sweet but definitely the right time.
  • I put in my notice for Successful Therapy that I will be resigning in June and focusing on work at LDS family services.
  • We had a lovely weekend at our mountain home with Heidi and Gabe and their kids playing games and enjoying the fragrant mountain air
