August 2024

August started off filled with family events and ended full of family events, it was a very extended family type month! Fiora found an apartment to move into August 1st and so she just barely avoided the wave of visitors that needed to stay with us during the month of August. I am grateful for the time I did have with Fiora living with us from Feb to August and pray for her daily now that she is on her own. She even found a car and financed it herself! I'm very proud of her independence and efforts to work and make friends and am so thankful she is close by. We are looking forward to having Weston stay will us for a few months before he goes off to college. He is hanging in there, and will be home Oct 3.

Highlights of August:

--Sleep over and fishing in the Uintahs with Jesse and Kelsy's 4 kids Knightly, Bourne, Everlight, and Othello.

--Jayson Wilkinson staying with us for 5 business days while in town for his business.

--Rachelle and her 3 daughters staying with us while they moved out Riley and Sarah Wilkinson.

--Karli Sue and Grant and their 5 children staying with us over the weekend of August 17 as their AC stopped working and they needed a reprieve from the heat.

--Picking up Kaiya Wilkinson from the airport and her spending the night, then helping her move into her new apartment in Provo.

--Lunch at Locals with my Schauers Sisters.

--Lindon Days rodeo and farmers market, I got a Portuguese "Family Proclamation to the World" wood engraving and am memorizing it in Portuguese.

--Major Flood that hit Lindon and Orem, hail and rivers of water, thankfully no property damage, but lots of water pooled up at the farm.

--Jared and I had an overnight excursion to St George for Suzette's baptism August 24, and Savanna stayed at our house that night to take care of the dog. We also got to see another play Trevan performed in, Beauty and the Beast.

--Being able to watch Travis Carpenter run a 5k at his cross country track meet in Orem on his birthday bc I was off worth that day for the wedding.

--Miles and Izzy Schauers' wedding in the Provo City Center Temple. Lots of Schauers family time over the weekend, surprisingly no one needed to stay with us that weekend. haha

--Baby shower for Savanna with all the Schauers ladies that were in town for the wedding. It turned out beautiful and perfect! Getting so excited for Jellybean to join our family in November.
