Double rainbow Jared took a picture of, he claims he actually saw the end of it on the cemetery.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The day was spent cleaning and setting up the house for the 23 guests we invited over for dinner. It looked marvelous! Only lasted about 2 minutes though after the guests arrived. Then food was everywhere, toys were being scattered, boots and coats strewed the house, and paper ware covered the tables, it was a splendid feeling having so many people together that we love. We had two turkeys, ribs, homemade stuffing, rolls from scratch, gravy, potatoes, green been casserole, salad (which was not a hit), jalapeno poppers, stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs, cream corn, olives, cranberries, raspberry pretzel jello, shrimp, veggies, and a variety of pies. We did manage to have 5 minutes of silence while Grandma Rappleye blessed the dinner, but for the rest of the day it was a hum of noise. We had a talent share after everyone had eaten their fill, and we had singing, dancing, piano playing, and toddlers running! The kids all made a beeline for the hottub after that, and we cleaned some and played "Mafia" for a while, and then all went downstairs to watch "Brave." What fun family time! I was pretty exhausted the next day but it was totally worth it. I am thankful for my family!!!
My sister Holly delivered her baby on Nov 26th, and 8 lb 1 oz baby angel they named Penelope Clarice Nielson. We were able to visit her that evening and she is a beauty!

We have been on a couple family outings the past couple weeks. We went to the BYU basketball game last Friday. My kids are not exactly sports fans, well neither am I, but they managed to make a fun time of it spending money on concessions. Jared enjoyed it. Last night we went to see "Into the Woods." The kids were good sports about that. Its tough to be Savanna though, she doesn't like being dragged around and forced to come on family outings.
Cheering on the Cougars |
Nachos, pretzels, hotdogs, ice cream were had by these fans |
Savanna performed in her Lindon Elementary Orchestra concert this past Friday and did a marvelous job. She even got a chance to play a duet which was nice. Jared got me a panini maker for Christmas and I got him a deep fryer. Because I love healthy gormet sandwiches and he loves to catch fish, and the best way to eat fish is to bread them and fry them in oil! We have enjoyed the deep fried fish quite a bit, and fries, onion rings, and fried chicken as well!
Weston has gone fishing with Jared last 3 trips! |
Jared claims Weston outfished him this last time |
He thinks he is master at this now |
